Grow your skills in holding space for men
Last year’s inaugural leadership weekend was a full-on success. We all walked away more confident in our role inside the movement. Whether you a are interested in facilitating a new group, becoming an uncle, whether your group has become stuck (conflicts, low energy ie attendance, no one processing deeply...), or you want to be more involved in the overall organising and promoting of our culture, this weekend retreat will give you all aspects.
This is not a lecture series but active engagement of all participants, bring in your experience and queries. Seasoned facilitators will share their knowledge.
Now is the time for you to step up and support new men in their journey
This workshop is designed to broaden our skills and grow our confidence in holding safe space for new men. We talk about group formation, active participation, making a call when no one else dares, conflict and mental health challenges. Leadership without power and ego. The principles of our philosophy. The techniques, themes, challenges of group work.
We will explore the essentials of safety, the dangers and challenges we may encounter, and the boundaries we need to set. We’ll discuss techniques to help a man go deeper and overcome his limitations. The workshop will include circles, sharing of our experiences in group work, as well as discussion to expand on some of the more important aspects of holding space, safety, etc.
The details
- Date and time: 25-27 September 2026. We will gather Friday evening through Sunday after lunch.
- Meals: Evening meals are shared, with everyone providing ingredients and helping to prepare. For breakfast and lunch, each man does his own thing.
- Please bring: Bedding and everything else you need. Please arrange what you need for your own breakfasts and lunches.
- Venue: Deer Stalkers Lodge in St Arnaud, opposite the DoC info centre. There are bunk rooms or marai style mattresses on the floor in the lounge. STRICTLY NO CAMPING OR SLEEPING IN VEHICLES.
- Cost: $90 for the whole weekend
