We are a small group dedicated to personal growth, non-judgement and providing a space for men to be heard. We have been in a group together for around four years. The current age is 30's plus to mid 60's with a wide range of experience and interests.
Twisted Mavericks is a dedicated group of 10+ men, a combination of two groups (Twisted Sticks and Maverick Collective) that were created after past International Men's Day events in Nelson.
Some group members have many years of men's work experience, while others are new to the work. The group has been on weekend retreats together and is planning more group activities and social events as well. Ages range from 30s to 60s, with men originally from North & South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
Our group was established in 2024 and meets fortnightly on Monday evenings in Nelson.

We are a ritual sharing group, originating in the 1990’s, with an evolving membership. We are actively committed to our own personal growth, and are supportive of new men and new groups.
We meet fortnightly, with member’s hosting the circle in their homes. Each member shares what is currently important in their lives. We then have a break, individual chats over food, and then a topic, each sharing how that moves them. Feedback is important and valuable.
Being a Dad can bring us challenges (and rewards!) we were never prepared for. Sometimes friendships drop away as we juggle the commitments of work, partnership. Our group is by Dads for Dads to offer friendship and mutual support on the lifelong journey of being a great Dad.
Especially suited to new Dads and Dads going through changes in their family structure. We're also very open to experienced Dads and those who might not even have kids living with them currently.

Our group was formed 12 years ago because the original Nelson men's group was full. This is a very committed group and very engaged in events like the Rotoiti retreats etc. Of the original members there are only 3 left but we haven't had anyone leave since before Covid. There is a lot of experience in the group so we trust each other to challenge our stories.
